The New York State Department of Transportation’s Motor Carrier Unit is investigating an accident in which a commercial truck full of cement overturned while eastbound on Noyac Road at a curve near Cromer’s Market at around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday. No injuries were reported.
The driver has been ticketed for two traffic violations, unsafe and imprudent speed and failure to maintain lane, according to Southampton Town Police Lieutenant Susan Ralph.
The cause of the accident “is still being investigated,” Lt. Ralph said on Wednesday afternoon.
Parts of Noyac Road were still closed to traffic in the vicinity of Cromer’s Market on Wednesday afternoon.
