Dish: Hail Mary! at TownLine BBQ
Imagine a classic Bloody Mary — three parts vodka, six parts tomato juice and one part lemon juice, with Tabasco, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
But then, add clam broth and every topping imaginable — from onion rings, hamburgers and spring rolls to dried meet, deep-fried pickles and even a slice a pizza — and that’s a different story.
In Canada, this is called a Caesar — more than 350 million sold annually and, yet, virtually unknown outside the Great White North, let alone on the East End.
Perhaps inspired by Canada’s national beverage, Townline BBQ — located at 3593 Montauk Highway in Sagaponack — is now serving what it calls the “Hail Mary.”
“Hearty, meaty and delicious, this drink is a meal in itself,” according to a press release. “The Townline BBQ signature house-made Bloody Mary is topped with Townline’s signature brisket, a St. Louis rib, a hush puppy and a pickle and a olive — all for $15.”
