The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons will host a debate on Thursday, October 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. for candidates running for state senate and assembly. The debate will be held at the Hampton Bays Senior Center, 25 Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays.
The debate will begin with incumbent state senator Kenneth P. LaValle, a Republican, and his challenger, Democrat Greg Fischer, followed by a debate between incumbent Assemblyman Fred W Thiele Jr. and his challenger, Republican Patrick O’Connor.
Both candidates will be able to make opening and closing statements and will take a number of questions posed by members of the press, the League and the audience. Susan Wilson, of Southampton, co-president of the Hamptons League, will serve as moderator.
A congressional race debate, between incumbent Lee Zeldin, a Republican, and Perry Gershon, a Democrat, will take place on Monday, October 29, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Hampton Bays High School.
