Advantage Title, a leading title insurance firm on Long Island, recently opened its newest office at 2 Newtown Lane in East Hampton, and a familiar face is running it — Chris Nuzzi, former Southampton Town councilman.
Now senior vice president, Nuzzi joined the firm’s flagship company in 2014, following a career in public service that began at the Suffolk County Executive’s Office in 1996 and pivoted to the title insurance industry in 2007. He holds a master’s degree in public policy from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and currently lives in Westhampton Beach with his wife, Sandy, and their four sons.
“Five years ago, Chris Nuzzi, senior vice president of Advantage Title, was appointed to lead client services on the East End and our volume has grown exponentially, making another East End office a necessary addition to our offices in Riverhead, Melville and New York City,” President and CEO Joe Willen said in a press release. “Having five in-house counsel differentiates us, so do Chris’ deep roots out east. We look forward to continued growth in this beautiful area and are excited to be part of the East Hampton business community.”
Nuzzi grew up in East Hampton and has extensive local knowledge and understanding of the complexities inherent to East End real estate transactions, according to the release. His long history in the area, including serving two terms as a Southampton Town councilman, has given him an appreciation for the environmental and preservation needs of the area, along with a familiarity of zoning regulations and practices that are unique to this region.
“Having a physical presence here on the South Fork that can accommodate our clients is extremely important to us,” Nuzzi said. “I look forward to continuing to work with all of our clients and truly believe that it is a benefit to be situated right in the village.”
