Hamptons Shakespeare Festival’s Camp Shakespeare will return to the East End with one- and two-week sessions running August 9 to 13 and August 16 to 20 on the expansive grounds at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Amagansett. This will mark the 22nd summer for the program and a return to in-person activities after being held online last year.
Camp Shakespeare is a fun and creative program for kids and teens, ages 8 to 15. Activities involve acting, theater games, improvisation, movement, voice and theatrical arts and crafts led by trained theater educators in an atmosphere of discovery and cooperation. Each weeklong session culminates in a performance for family and friends.
“We are thrilled to return to a version of normal and provide a fun way for kids to be creative in person,” said David M. Brandenburg, the festival’s artistic director.
Tuition is $400 to $475 per week and financial aid is available. Preregistration is required at hamptons-shakespeare.org/camp, 631-267-0105, or email@example.com. Camp Shakespeare is COVID-19 compliant, following all New York State and local guidelines.
Hamptons Shakespeare Festival, a nonprofit organization, has provided cultural and educational programs on the East End since 1996. Its free outdoor productions have been seen by tens of thousands of individuals and families, and its educational programs have reached thousands of children from Montauk to Manhattan.
