Noted prognosticator Byron Wien — U.S. strategist at Morgan Stanley for 21 years and senior adviser to Blackstone Group — has been one of Wall Street’s most influential strategists for decades.
On Friday, June 22, he’ll share his wisdom in the form of life lessons that will touch on his annual “Ten Surprises” list — citing his economic, financial market and political predictions — at 6 p.m., as part of the Tom Twomey Series at the East Hampton Library, located at 159 Main Street.
The series will continue in July with “Big Ideas for Small Gardens,” a talk with Charlotte M. Frieze, former garden editor of House & Garden magazine, followed by a self-led garden tour, on Saturday, July 7, at 9:30 a.m.; and “Craft Brewing Out East,” a talk and tasting with Vaughan Cutillo of Montauk Brewing Co., Lauri Spitz of Moustache Brewing Co., and Richard Vandenburgh of Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. on Friday, July 20, at 6 p.m.
New York Times financial columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin will interview Howard Schultz, chairman of Starbucks, on Friday, August 17, at 6 p.m., during “Building a Better Company.” Artist Mike Solomon will give the talk “The Creeks: Epicenter of the 1950s’ Hamptons Art Community” on Saturday, September 15, at 6 p.m., and the series will conclude on Saturday, October 13, at 6 p.m. with “The Gardiner Family Legacy: Two Iconic East Hampton Estates,” a talk by Bruce Collins and Chip Rae, with an introduction by Richard Barons.
