Douglas Elliman Welcomes Davis Team

Jonathan Davis has a family name well known in real estate circles — but he doesn’t let it define him.

While the Southampton local did learn the business from his father, Tim Davis, he has become a highly regarded agent in his own right, and recently joined Douglas Elliman’s Bridgehampton office to head up The Davis Team alongside John Giruzzi.

Giruzzi also has deep roots in East End real estate as a Southampton native, having learned about development and land usage from his father’s business, and counts a strong background in finance and investments. He lives in Sag Harbor with his fiancée,Amber, and son, Ashton, and their two dogs, rescues adopted from the Southampton Animal Shelter.

“A Night Out” Continues with Barbara Thomas

Barbara Thomas was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania — and into an artistic family.

Her father was Fritz Siebel, illustrator of such children’s classics as the “Amelia Bedelia” series, and her first formal art education was at the Art Students’ League in Manhattan, where she studied painting under Edwin Dickinson.

She would go on to study at Pratt Institute, and then worked for 10 years as an advertising art director before moving to East Hampton, where she turned to painting full time — her work now known along the East Coast, especially in the Hamptons.

On Wednesday, April 19, the artist will be the next participant in the “A Night Out …” series, starting with an art demonstration or mini art class at 5:30 p.m. at The Golden Eagle Studio 144, located at 144 North Main Street in East Hampton, followed by a two-course dinner at Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton.

Tickets are $75 and reservations are required. For more information, please call (631) 324-0603 or visit

Paton Miller To Host Artists & Writers

Almond, located at 1 Ocean Road in Bridgehampton, will host the “Artists & Writers Night” on Tuesday, April 17, at 7 p.m., with Paton Miller as its guest of honor.

After leaving his home in Hawaii to journey through Asia in 1974, Miller arrived on the East End with a collection of travel-inspired artworks that won him an art scholarship from Southampton College.

Graduating with honors, Paton launched his artistic career, showing in more than 20 solo and group shows across the country. Today, his works are exhibited internationally, and among the most widely collected works between the East End and New York.

The cost of the three-course family-style dinner is $45, which includes a glass of local wine or craft beer and tax, and reservations are required. For more information, please call (631) 537-5665 or visit
