Canio’s Books, 290 Main Street in Sag Harbor, home for over 36 years to a fine selection of literary fiction, poetry, non-fiction and children’s books is now offering a selection of fine literary teas.
In addition to Canio’s sidelines such as literary t-shirts and locally- made soaps by Southampton Soap Company, the bookshop is featuring both black and green tea blends from Simpson & Vail known for their superior teas since 1929.
“We love good books, and we love an excellent cup of tea, so we thought we’d combine the pleasures of both and offer a selection of ‘Literary Teas’,” said Canio’s co-owner Maryann Calendrille.
The tea blends on offer are inspired by Jane Austen, Walt Whitman, James Joyce and Emily Dickinson. Each tea captures elements of the writers’ works whether it’s the lightly floral scent of Emily Dickinson’s rose- inflected black tea blend, or the bold golden malty cup of the James Joyce variety. These high quality teas, certified Kosher, are presented in a decorative tin and make a perfect host gift. Or they could serve as the inspiration for a book group’s afternoon teatime discussion, or evening’s literary salon. The teas retail for $10 per 4-oz tin. Tea filters and brewing spoons are also available for sale.
