Burke to Come to Stony Brook University
The non-profit youth empowerment organization, i-tri, has teamed up with the Long Island Against Domestic Violence, New York State Assembly member Christine Pellegrino, and Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn to bring #MeToo founder Tarana Burke to Stony Brook University on Sunday, January 28 for a day of meetings with legislators, the public and students to talk about how progress can be made with the #MeToo movement to Long Island.
According to a release issued by i-tri, Suffolk and Nassau county mayors, assemblymen, town supervisors and local officials will be invited to the event, which will include a student breakfast with Ms. Burke, a legislators roundtable, and a public forum with Ms. Burke led by part and present girls in the i-tri program.
