U.S. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey, a Democratic presidential hopeful, is set to have a summer fundraiser at the home of Jon Bon Jovi on Lily Pond Lane in East Hampton Village, the National Press Secretary for Cory 2020 confirmed on Tuesday.
The event will be held on Sunday, August 18, and tickets will be sold for $1,000 all the way up to $15,000. The latter price tag will include access to a cocktail reception and dinner, as well as a photo taken with both Mr. Booker and Mr. Bon Jovi, according to a report in The New York Postthat was confirmed by the campaign.
The New Jersey senator and the rock-and-roll legend are known to have a friendly relationship. In March, Mr. Bon Jovi held a fundraiser for Mr. Booker at a home in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Becky Molinaro, East Hampton Village administrator, who is responsible for processing permits for large assemblies, said she was unaware of any such requests being made on behalf of the Booker fundraiser as of Tuesday.
Michael Tracey, East Hampton Village Police Chief, had not returned a request for comment on anticipating security measures for the event as of Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Booker, one of 24 Democratic candidates still in the race for the party’s presidential nomination, has long been an advocate of racial and social justice, his campaign website says. He has accumulated 13 endorsements, all from New Jersey officials, including those of Democratic Governor Phil Murphy and Democratic Senator Bob Menendez.
Mr. Booker was scheduled to speak at the second Democratic debate in Detroit on Wednesday, July 31.
