Bay Street Theater will host a benefit concert, “A Night of Thanks,” to raise funds for the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corp and the Sag Harbor Fire Department on Thursday, January 19 at 7 p.m.

The benefit was conceived to honor Sag Harbor emergency service workers, as well as all of the police, fire and EMS departments that responded to the December 16 fire that destroyed two buildings on Main Street, damaging a handful of other business and residential spaces. Bay Street Theater is donating the theater and staff services, and the musicians are donating their time and musical talents for the concert.

The benefit will feature some of the East End’s most well-known artsist, including Nancy Atlas and the Nancy Atlas Project, the Hoodoo Loungers, and Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks. There will also be a special raffle in the lobby featuring items donated by local retailers and restaurants.

All of the money raised at the concert, including from the raffle, will be donated to the fire department and Ambulance Corp. Previous benefits at Bay Street Theater – to aid those impacted by the typhoon in the Philippines, the earthquake in Haiti and the tsunami in Japan, have raised over $20,000.

Tickets are $50 per person available at the box office at (631) 725-9500, online at baystreet.org, and at the door the night of the event if tickets are not sold out.
