Bedside Reading Celebrates ‘Independents’ Day

The collection of books being distributed to South Fork inns by Bedside Reading over July 4th weekend.

Bedside Reading, which distributes tote bags filled with complimentary books for guests staying in hotels and inns around the South Fork throughout the summer, is celebrating Independence Day by shining a spotlight on indie authors and publishers. To that end, this weekend’s collection of books to be distributed to local partner inns includes fiction, historical fiction, self-help and memoirs by the program’s participating authors.

“In addition to helping established authors and publishers get noticed, we also help create awareness for our indie authors and publishers,” said Jane Ubell-Meyer, founder of Bedside Reading. “We provide a platform for all authors to shine, and during Independence Day weekend, we wanted to celebrate our indie authors.”

The books included in the July 4 totes are:

“Square Up” by Lisa Dailey (travel/memoir)

“The Contract” by Sheila Grinell (fiction)

“Little Sister: A Memoir” by Patricia Walsh Chadwick (memoir)

“The Rancher In Stilettos” by Marcia Williams Cromer (fiction)

“Dial M For Merlot” by Howard Kleinfeld (fiction)

“Brilliant Burnout” by Nisha Jackson (self-help)
