Thirteen-year-old Lily Babcock, an eighth grader at Pierson Middle-High School, has launched “Harbor Helpings” and hopes to use her knowledge of ceramics to aid families in need in Sag Harbor this holiday season.

Lily has been working with local artist Mary Jaffe for the past eight years, learning the craft of ceramics. Her ceramics include bowls of various sizes in organic shapes and include a unique, bees’ wax finish.

This Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lily will be selling her bowls in front of the Wharf Shop on Main Street in Sag Harbor with the hope to raise over $1,000 for the Sag Harbor Food Pantry through the donation of all proceeds from the sale of her work this holiday season. Lily will also walk shoppers through the process of making her ceramics while on Main Street.
