The East Hampton Library will host its annual summer celebrations, Authors Night and the Free Children’s Fair, as interactive online events this year. Both events, which are traditionally held on the second weekend of August, will be hosted online during the same approximate time frame.
The decision to present these events online was made to ensure the safety of attendees, special guests, volunteers and staff, as the Library continues to follow the recommendations of public health officials.
“Although public health guidelines will not allow us to present these events in person this summer, we are exploring ways to translate the exciting spirit of Authors Night and the Free Children’s Fair over to participatory virtual platforms that will give us an opportunity to continue the traditions of both,” said Dennis Fabiszak, East Hampton Library Director. “As both events are highlights of the East End’s summer season, transforming them to online experiences will provide the Library with a dynamic new way to connect our community and the literary world in a way that will entertain and educate our patrons — of all ages.”
Full details and information will be announced soon. For updates on Authors Night, visit authorsnight.org and the library’s main website easthamptonlibrary.org.
