The Montauk Library’s “Virtual Visits” series with artists and musicians in their studios continues with “The Guitar & Cuba, France and Haiti,” a 30 minute video by Francisco Roldán. The video performance premieres Wednesday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. and will be available for streaming on demand through December 31 via Montauk Library’s videos for general audiences at montauklibrary.org.

The video highlights Roldán, a classical guitarist, performing rhythmic Cuban melodies, French impressionist gems and voodoo-influenced dances by Leo Brouwer, Erik Satie, Claude Debussy and Frantz Casseus.

Francisco Roldán is a concert artist and a teacher who loves what he does. He is currently a member of the faculty of the Mannes College of Music Preparatory Division, Lehman College at the City University of New York; and the Alexander Robertson School. He is also the director of Música De Cámara, an organization dedicated to presenting classical Latin American composers and musicians. His recordings can be heard on music streaming apps.
