EEREA Discontinues Efforts to Launch East End Listing Exchange
After almost three years of effort, the East End Real Estate Association (EEREA) has decided to discontinue the development of the East End Listing Exchange, a proposed new listing system for the East End, and disband the EEREA.
The attempt by the five founding firms to create from scratch a professional association loosely based on REBNY was supported by 13 member firms that demonstrated the desire in the industry to be a force for a state of the art shared listing service as well as a viable trade association in this profession on the East End.
“There were just too many moving parts in achieving this objective,” EEREA Director, Joseph Sabella said. The EEREA Board decided to take a step back and disband the EEREA to wipe the slate clean. Mr. Sabella said its members would likely renew an effort to form or join a professional real estate organization in the near future, and reexamine technology options at that time.
