Center Stage at SCC Holds Open Auditions For “Boeing Boeing”

Center Stage at Southampton Cultural Center, now in its 10th season will hold open auditions for performances of Marc Camoletti’s, “Boeing Boeing” on August 13 and August 14 at 6 p.m. in Southampton Cultural Center’s Levitas Center for the Arts.

Auditions with script readings begin promptly at these times, with late arrivals seen at the director’s discretion. “Boeing Boeing” will be directed by Michael Disher and have performances from October 20 through November 5.

In the 1960’s, bachelor Bernard has a flat in Paris and three beautiful stewardesses, all engaged to him without knowing about one another. The smooth bachelor life gets bumpy when his friend Robert comes to stay and a new and speedier Boeing jet throws off his carefully calculated planning. All three stewardesses end up in town simultaneously, Robert forgets which lies to tell to whom, and chaos ensues.

“Boeing Boeing” was nominated for six Tony Awards the winner of two Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Play and to Mark Rylance as Leading Actor in a Play.

Available roles include Bernard, a suave, charming middle aged man engaged to three stewardesses, Robert, his American friend, Berthe, Bernard’s French maid and confidante, and three young stewardesses. The stewardesses include Gloria, an American from TWA, Gabriella, an Italian with Alitalia and Gretchen, a German with Lufthansa.
